Mobile Cleaning Enzyme Workshop and Multilingual Information Station

From September 2023 to August 2024, the Mobile Cleaning Enzyme Workshop and Multilingual Information Station were held 11 times at various locations including the Mong Kok Road Footbridge, the area near the Victoria Park Fountain in Causeway Bay, and Chater Road near Statue Square Gardens in Central. Over 900 migrant domestic workers participated in these events.
Sponsored by the Environment and Conservation Fund, these activities aimed to enhance the awareness and participation of migrant domestic workers in environmental protection through engaging and interactive formats. Participants learned how to properly sort waste, understand the destinations of recyclable materials, and create eco-friendly cleaning enzymes from kitchen waste and fruit peels. These activities deepened the participants' understanding of waste reduction and carbon footprint minimization, equipping them with practical skills for a more sustainable lifestyle.
The importance of these events lies in their ability to impart crucial environmental knowledge while fostering a sense of community involvement and environmental consciousness among migrant domestic workers. Such activities not only promote environmental awareness but also contribute to the social integration of migrant workers in Hong Kong. Continuing these initiatives in the future would be highly beneficial for both the community and the environment.
